JUST IN: 5 Republicans Who Voted For Trump Impeachment Have Learned What It Cost

(Patriot Insider) – Do you remember the names of the five GOP members who voted in favor of impeaching President Donald Trump?

If you happen to have forgotten, I can refresh your memory: Tom Rice, John Katko, Fred Upton, Adam Kinzinger and Anthony Gonzalez.

And each and every one of them has paid a steep price for the betrayal of the president in which they participated. As the song goes, “regrets, I’ve had a few.”

According to a report from The Western Journal, Rice recently scored a big L — for “loss” — in a GOP primary race. None of the others are even bothering to seek re-election. Which is a good thing, because none of them would win after what they did to Trump.

What these folks failed to realize is that they would need Trump’s loyal base in order to win, and their actions sealed the deal for that not happening. There are consequences for actions, which is a basic lesson most of us learn during the course of childhood, but these five individuals must have missed class that day.

“Kinzinger of Illinois has been perhaps the most defiant. Confronted by members of his own family critical of his vote against Trump in his second impeachment, Kinzinger said conservative churches had brainwashed them, The New York Times reported,” the WJ report said.

“After voting with Trump 90 percent of the time, Kinzinger took a hard position against him following the former president’s claims that the 2020 election was stolen,” the report continued.

Rice, hailing from South Carolina, was the first of the 10 members of the GOP who cast a vote in favor of the second impeachment that was booted from office by her constituents.

“Besides the four who decided not to run, the remaining five Republicans are Liz Cheney of Wyoming, Peter Meijer of Michigan, Jaime Herrera Beutler and Dan Newhouse, both of Washington, and David Valadao of California,” the WJ piece said. “Prior to being defeated by Trump-backed state Rep. Russell Fry, Rice told NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ that Trump was ‘harmful’ to the Republican Party.”

At first, Rice wasn’t on board with the second impeachment, but was not happy with how Trump reacted to the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol, stating that he responded weakly and lacked “contrition” for what happened, according to reports from The Post and Courier.

“Katko, recognized as one of the most bipartisan House members, issued a statement following the incursion that said Trump ‘encouraged this insurrection — both on social media ahead of January 6th, and in his speech that day,'” the report said.

“By deliberately promoting baseless theories suggesting the election was somehow stolen, the president created a combustible environment of misinformation, disenfranchisement, and division,” Katko continued.

Upton, from the state of Michigan, provided an explanation for his choice to vote in favor of impeachment through a statement that said, “Enough is enough. The Congress must hold President Trump to account and send a clear message that our country cannot and will not tolerate any effort by any president to impede the peaceful transfer of power from one president to the next. Thus I will vote to impeach.”

Gonzalez, who hails from the state of Ohio, referred to Trump as a “cancer for the country,” then describing the Jan.6 riot as a personal “line in the sand.”

It’s entirely possible these five individuals who voted in favor of impeachment all truly believe Trump deserved it.

“But as each month seems to reveal more information that undercuts the establishment narrative of what happened on Jan. 6, 2021 — odd behavior by the Capitol Police, apparent FBI activity and more — one has to wonder if the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump hold firm to their convictions,” the report from WJ stated.

Still, these individuals have paid a pretty sizable price for their decision to side with Democrats. Their careers might be over for good, which means so is their ability to do some good in our government by protecting the rights of the citizens of this country.

  1. Good. I’m glad these democrat boot lickers will find themselves kicked to the curb. That’s been the problem with republican representatives for too long. Their roll over and let the Dems walk all over them is why we want them gone. They don’t fight for the people who put them in office, instead they go along to get along.

  2. The Republican Party is finally standing up to piss poor republicans. The silence from Trump, he didn’t answer to the democrat media because he’s a business man . As a business man he knew the election was fraud in the important states. He disappeared from the media to go and fix the fraud in the fraud states. He forced the republican party to wake up, clean up the fraud and put the fraud people in jail. He rebuilt the party getting real republicans to run in these fraud areas and force the parties to clean out the rinos or secret democrats posing as republicans from the party. Hopefully our new republicans will win elections and remain true republicans. The only way to save a business like saving a country is to find out what went wrong, start from the bottom and rebuild the business and a country. Trump has done this and isn’t finished because the deteriation is severe and it still is taking Trump’s time and so far he has made a massive rebuilt in a lousy two years. That’s Trump, a builder and a leader. Why are the democrats nervous, well, Trump said he doesn’t win through insurrection, he wins through legally run elections.

  3. Loyal base??? They are really should be called lemmings. The GOP members who voted to impeach TRump showed courage and were able to clearly discern TRUTH from fiction (Trump and his “Big Lie” and that Jan6 was simply tourists in the Capitol)

  4. I’m glad that these pseudo-Republicans decided to hang it up or were defeated in a primary (I’m in S.C., but not in Tom Rice’s district) because they saw the writing on the wall or the voters saw that they weren’t representing them. That’s why we vote every two years for our Representatives. If we don’t like their job performance, then vote them out. Unfortunately, we have to wait six years to vote out a Senator and I can only hope we finally get rid of Lindsey Graham because he’s definitely not representing us, but I haven’t voted for him the last two elections anyway. Maybe he’ll hang it up and not make us go through the misery again. Please God, please. Concerning J6, here’s my biggest reasons I think this was a planned event by the Dems. Nancy Pelosi turned down 10-20k National Guard troops from President Trump because he knew there could a problem and he was trying to be proactive in preventing it. Nancy and the mayor of D.C. both declined his offer. Why? What happened to the men who were encouraging the crowd to storm the Capitol Building? The FBI hasn’t had a problem finding anyone else that was even on the Capitol grounds, but these guys have seemed to disappear from the face of the Earth. Finally, why hasn’t Nancy allowed review of the 1000’s of hours of video that is available of the entire D.C. area that would show all events and explain many, many questions? I think the answer is obvious which is because it would implicate Nancy and her plan to use this event against Trump. If her devious plan of J6 were to be discovered, then it may lead to what happened with the election of November 2020 and how the Dems were behind the stealing of that from Donald Trump. They are both connected and the Dems shake in their boots of being discovered. The Dems hate Donald J. Trump because they know they can’t compete with his personna and ability to get things accomplished for the American people. Dems only use the American electorate for their own personal gain. They want their vote, but not the electorates’ opinion on what is important to “we the people”. The “practicing” Roman Catholics Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden will have to answer one day before the ultimate Judge on all their progressive opinions and lawlessness deeds on Earth. If what they think and do is “practicing” their faith, I hate to see what a CINO is about. My Catholic friends see them as such hypocrites and cringe whenever they say they’re practicing Catholics. I can see why.

  5. Liz Cheney just wants revenge on Trump for trashing her father. So in the end Trump trashed Dick and he just trashed her politically.
As for the rest they aren’t even running for re-election they know their fate has been sealed. These republicans/rino’s just make it so damn easy for Trump to win.
