Prominent Political Icon Arrested On Heinous Child Porn Charges

(Patriot Insider) – A former two-time candidate for governor of Maine was arrested on Friday on child pornography charges. WCSH-TV reports, Eliot Cutler, 75, is facing four counts of possession of unlawful sexually explicit materials.

The charge is a class C felony which means the materials consisted of images of children younger than 12 years old, according to Matthew J. Foster, District Attorney for Hancock and Washington Counties.

Foster explained their investigation began based on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which involved a single photo. Last week, police conducted a search of the devices at Cutler’s homes and found at least 10 more files.

Cutler was released on $50,000 bail on Saturday afternoon.

Cutler has previously owned an oceanfront home valued at $11 million when it went on the market in 2017, according to the Portland Press-Herald.

He ran for Maine’s governorship in 2010 and 2014 as an independent but was viewed both times as a spoiler for Democrats, which helped get Republican candidate Paul LePage elected twice, WCSH reported.

In the late 1970’s, Cutler worked for the federal Office of Management and Budget during the Jimmy Carter administration. He also worked in the office of former Democratic Sen. Ed Muskie of Maine.

Despite running as an Independent, Cutler has given “tens of thousands to Democrat campaigns nationwide” according to the Maine GOP, including Joe Biden, Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee.

Cutler served on the board of the Lender Foundation until last week when he resigned. The Lender Foundation seeks to support rural students in attending college, according to Executive Director Don Carpenter.

“We were deeply disturbed to learn about the serious accusations brought against Eliot Cutler today,” Carpenter said in a statement. “In his former role on the Board of Directors, Eliot was involved in high-level strategy and governance and did not directly interface with students who participated in grant-funded programming.”

District Attorney Foster told the Bangor Daily News that during a search of his home, Cutler told his wife that they were going to find child porn.

“Basically, the conversation was between him and his wife while police were standing right there,” Foster said. “He told her they’re going to find child porn.”

Cutler’s lawyer, Walter McKee whined about the timing of the arrest as if those who possess child pornography are entitled to a more considerate time of arrest.

“I’ve been dealing with the issues created by a completely unnecessary late Friday arrest, after the court has closed, for no good reason,” McKee said in an email.

State Police spokesperson Shannon Moss said, as a condition of bail, Cutler is not allowed to have any internet-connected devices and is not allowed to possess any sexually explicit material.

  1. Put this Worthless Piece of Gutter TRASH in front of Beijing Joey’s SC nominee Justice Judge Jackson and see what would happen under Judgeship. She Judge Jackson would probably let him off the hook with a Slap on the Wrist and a Missed Meal. And let him go home to his Darling understanding Wife.

  2. This has nothing to do with this poor sap’s troubles really, but I noticed that ABC News used the word “alleged” possession of child pornography to describe the guy’s crime. So how’s come, during the four years of the Trump administration, the main stream media, and I’m pretty sure ABC was as guilty as the rest of them, couldn’t use that same term in reference to Russian collusion? It was always given as factual, not possible, and it seems like they along with Schiff and the rest of the criminals in the coup, would be guilty of some kind of crime.

  3. ONLY ONE WAY TO FIX A SICK TWISTED PERSON THAT LOOKS AT OR USES CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. ONE 9MM TO THE HEAD AND JUST INCASE IT GOES ALL THE WAY THROUGH HAVE A DEMOCRAT STAND BEHIND THEM. TWO WITH ONE SHOT IS A BOUNUS EVERY DAY
