Joining Forces? Trump And DeSantis Meet Privately In Florida

(Patriot Insider) – Now that former President Donald Trump is the presumptive GOP nominee, folks all across the country are speculating on who he might choose as his running mate to take on President Joe Biden during the general election in November. There’s quite a few names on the list, but one beginning to pick up steam is Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who himself ran against Trump in the primary, halting his campaign following the Iowa caucus.

In fact, according to Jack Davis of The Western Journal, Trump held a rather long meeting with DeSantis, privately, in Miami on Sunday. Hmm, I wonder what they chatted about. Very curious.

“The report said both men had a reason to meet. For Trump, whose legal battles are draining time and resources, access to the DeSantis donor network would be a plus, as would having DeSantis energize Republicans,” Davis wrote.

“There is an incentive for DeSantis to form a closer relationship, as well,” The Washington Post noted in its report. “People close to DeSantis have said it is untenable for him to continue to have a strained relationship with Trump, particularly as he eyes his political future. He is widely viewed among Republican donors and consultants as weakened after a shellacking by Trump in the primary.”

Florida real estate broker Steve Witkoff helped set up the meeting which resulted in DeSantis agreeing to work alongside Trump to aid him in beating the incumbent commander-in-chief. Which is a good thing. Now is the time to set aside petty differences and join forces to take down our common enemy, the man representing the political party that wants to annihilate our way of life, values, and everything we hold dear.

“DeSantis has been on some lists of potential Trump running mates, a fluid list of names that has evolved with input from Trump’s hints and unabashed media speculation. A report from Axios had previously indicated that North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum has been gaining traction as a potential bridge to moderates,” Davis divulged. “The report indicated that Burgum could help Trump connect with undecided voters, suggesting it was a sign of Trump’s favor that Burgum and his wife attended an Easter brunch at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.”

Another name on the former president’s short list is South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, however, she’s been catching a whole lot of flack ever since it was revealed that her soon-to-be-released memoir features a story of her shooting a dog and killing a goat. Definitely not a good look, but is that enough to get Noem removed from the short list despite all of her many great accomplishments? Only time will tell.

As per Noem, the dog was untrainable and dangerous, which is why she took the dog out to a gravel pit and shot it. Keep in mind that the governor grew up on a farm where this sort of thing was common.

Meghan McCain, political commentator and daughter of now deceased U.S. Senator John McCain, stated the incident might end up sending her political career to an early grave.

“You can recover from a lot of things in politics, change the narrative etc. – but not from killing a dog,” she remarked in response to the incident.

“We love animals, but tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm. Sadly, we just had to put down 3 horses a few weeks ago that had been in our family for 25 years,” Noem went on to say in a post on X.
