(Patriot Insider) – Former President Barack Obama criticized former President Donald Trump during a recent podcast, stating that he is not considered to be a “serious guy” in New York City, which is where he spent the vast majority of his life building businesses and growing his celebrity status.
According to The Hill, Obama was asked by ‘SmartLess’ podcast co-host Jason Bateman if he was shocked by how fast the “protection and passion for democracy was diluted” in recent times. Obama replied by pointing out that the trend started when former President Bill Clinton was in office and then picked up steam during his own administration.
“I have been surprised that there haven’t been guardrails inside the Republican Party. Trump didn’t surprise me,” he responded, before taking an opportunity to throw darts at Trump.
“I mean, he comes from New York. There’s nobody in New York who does business with him or lend him money. He’s not considered a serious guy here,” Obama continued.

“Obama appeared alongside Clinton and President Biden in the newest episode of the ‘SmartLess’ podcast. The trio of presidents recorded the podcast March 28 in New York City,” the report said. “Obama went on to explain how he thought more Republicans would say some of Trump’s behavior went too far.”
“But, so I was surprised he was elected, but I wasn’t surprised in terms of his behavior. I did expect, and I suspect Bill and Joe, you’d agree with this, that there would be some folks in the Republican Party who would say, no, you can’t go that far. You can’t start praising Putin and saying that his intelligence is better than the US intelligence agencies,” he added.
Trump is currently embroiled in a series of legal battles, two of which are located in New York. The court has ordered that he attend the trial concerning alleged hush money payments to a former porn star, where he is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records.
“Trump has railed against his hometown of New York City in recent years, despite the city being where he first grew his businesses and accumulated fame. He later changed his residency from New York to Florida in 2019,” The Hill stated in conclusion.
Given the wreck Obama made out of our nation during his 8 years in office, I don’t think this man has any justified reason for his opinion on Trump. When Trump moved into the White House he did a heck of a job cleaning things up and getting us on track toward financial prosperity, undoing a whole lot of the economic disasters that Obama put in place. I’d say if anyone is not a serious person, it’s Barack Obama, along with President Joe Biden, a man who makes so many mistakes due to his cognitive issues he ought to be named Joe “The Gaffe Man” Biden.
